Paul Remy

Paul Remy (* 1919 ; † September 27, 1979 in Brussels ) was a Belgian Romanist , Provençalist and Medievalist .

life and work

Remy won the Concours universitaire of Belgian Romance Studies in 1944 with his final thesis Le roman provençal de Jaufre (XIIIe see). Etude littéraire . At the same time he published La littérature provençale au Moyen Age. Synthèse historique et choix de textes (Bruxelles 1944). He became professor of Romance literary history, first in Ghent (1963), then in Brussels (1968). For many years he was editor of the Bulletin bibliographique de la Société Internationale Arthurienne .
