Paul Schmidt (judge)

Paul Schmidt (born March 6, 1886 in Großbottwar ; † April 9, 1967 ) was a German judge.

Life

Schmidt studied law at the Eberhard Karls University . On July 29, 1905, he was reciprocated in the Corps Rhenania Tübingen . He last took part in the First World War as a lieutenant and battery leader. He passed the assessor exam in 1918 and became deputy magistrate in Künzelsau in 1919 . In 1920/21 he was a laborer at the Württemberg Ministry of Justice. In Stuttgart he became a district judge (1921) and district judge (1928). As senior councilor at the Württemberg Ministry of Justice, he came to the Reich Ministry of Justice in 1935 , where he was appointed Ministerialrat on November 3, 1937 . On November 25, 1944, he became a Reich judge . From June 28, 1945 to December 20, 1946 he was under automatic arrest by the Americans. In January 1948, he returned to the Württemberg judiciary as director of the Stuttgart regional court . He was retired on June 30, 1952. He was married to Elisabeth Constanzer since 1935.
