Helga von Kügelgen
Helga von Kügelgen (née Meyer , born February 13, 1929 in Kiel , † August 18, 2013 in Bad Kreuznach ) was a German politician ( CDU ).
Life and work
After attending elementary school in Kiel from 1935 to 1938 and from 1938 to 1939 in Gdansk , she attended a secondary school in Gdansk until 1944 . After fleeing in 1945 she worked as an agricultural laborer and from 1946 to 1948 attended a state high school in Kassel .
After graduating from high school in 1948, she began studying medicine in Freiburg and Heidelberg . She passed the state examination in 1954. In the following year she obtained full license . She then worked as an assistant doctor at the Medical University Clinic in Giessen. In 1964 she was promoted to Dr. med. PhD at the University of Giessen .
Since 1965 she lived in Bad Kreuznach.
Political party
Helga von Kügelgen had been a member of the CDU since 1968. She was district chairwoman of the CDU women's association in Bad Kreuznach, member of the CDU city and district executive board, member of the state executive committee of the CDU women's association and district chairwoman of the CDU women's association in Koblenz-Montabaur, of which she became honorary chairman in 1989. She was also a member of the district board of the CDU Koblenz-Montabaur.
MPs
Helga von Kügelgen was elected to the Rhineland-Palatinate Landtag for the first time in the 1975 state elections and was a member of it for three terms from May 20, 1975 to June 2, 1987. In the 8th and 9th electoral term she was a member of the Committee on Social Affairs, Health and Sport (title in the 9th electoral term: Committee on Social Affairs and Health). In the 9th electoral term also the Committee on the Environment. In the 10th electoral term she was Chairwoman of the Subcommittee on Women's Issues, Deputy Chairwoman of the Committee on Social Affairs and Health and a member of the Committee on Environment.
From 1969 to 1979 and from 1984 to 1994 she was a member of the city council of Bad Kreuznach. From 1974 to 1979 she was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. In the local elections in 1984 and 1989 she was elected to the Bad Kreuznach district council.
In 1974 she was a member of the 6th Federal Assembly .
Other engagement
Helga von Kügelgen was 1,966 to 1,984 active volunteer as a parent advisory council chairman in elementary and high school, sometimes as a member of the District and Parents' Council . She was vice president of the state board of the German Rheuma League , member of the district diaconal committee of the parish of Nahe / Glan, the state youth welfare committee and from 1988 to 1993 member of the board of the association of former members of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament.
