Paul Schröter (medic, 1930)

Paul Schröter (born March 25, 1930 in Groß Hermenau, Mohrungen district , East Prussia ; † December 2, 2014 in Rostock ) was a German neuropathologist . He was a professor at the University of Rostock .

Life

Schröter's parents were the teacher Alfred Schröter and his wife Anna. Escape and expulsion took the family to Rostock. After graduating from high school, Paul Schröter studied medicine at the University of Rostock from 1950 . In 1956 he was approved and awarded a Dr. med. PhD .

From 1957 to 1960 Schröter was a scientific assistant in the Rostock pathology department . Having become a specialist in pathology at Alexander Bienengräber , he was appointed head of the neuropathology laboratory at the University Psychiatric Clinic. As a senior physician , he completed his habilitation in 1969. Appointed associate professor in 1990, he was appointed to a C 3 professorship in 1992 . In 1995 he retired.
