Paul Schreiber (doctor)

Paul Schreiber (born March 22, 1855 in Magdeburg ; † August 29, 1920 there ) was a secret medical adviser , school doctor and well-known ophthalmologist in Magdeburg.

Life

Schreiber was born as the son of the geologist Andreas Schreiber . He studied medicine in Halle (Saale) and completed his doctorate there in 1878 on rosemary oil .

Schreiber then took up a job as an assistant to Alfred Graefe at the University Eye Clinic in Halle, where he became a specialist in this area. In 1881 he founded a private clinic in Magdeburg in the bathing establishment he had taken over at Fürstenwall 3 / 3a . In 1884 he became a member of the Medical Society of Magdeburg . The city's magistrate appointed him part-time school doctor for ophthalmology .

Honors

Schreiber was awarded the title of the Secret Medical Council. The city of Magdeburg named a street in his honor as Paul-Schreiber-Straße .
