Paul Schwartz (politician)

Paul Schwartz (born January 15, 1904 in Bremen , † September 12, 1963 in Bremen) was a German politician and member of the Reichstag for the KPD .

Life

Paul Schwartz was the organizational leader of the KPD in the Bremen district of Buntentor . In the election in September 1930 he received a seat in the Reichstag for the constituency of Weser-Ems, to which he belonged until July 1932.

His wife Lina Schwartz (born January 5, 1906 in Bremen) was arrested by the Gestapo on August 8, 1933 because of her work as a cashier for the KPD organization in Buntentor and sentenced to three years in prison for “preparing for high treason”.

In the mid-1930s, Paul Schwartz was one of the most important sources of information for the KPD district leader, Alfred Richter.
