Paul Weidmann
Paul Weidmann (* 1744 in Vienna ; † April 9, 1801 there ) was an Austrian writer .
Weidmann is the author of more than 65 dramas . In 1767 Weidmann entered the Austrian civil service. In 1772 he published Hababah, or Jealousy in the Seraglio , and two years later the Habsburg epic Karlssieg appeared . In 1775 he authored with Johann Faust the first German art drama of Faust substance . He was the first to have Faust's parents perform.
