Paula Frassinetti
Paula Frassinetti , different spelling Paola Frassinetti (born March 3, 1809 in Genoa , † June 11, 1882 in Rome ) was a religious sister and founder of the women's congregation Congregatio Sororum a Sancta Dorothea ( Sisters of St. Dorothea ) (Italian: Suore di Dorotea della Frassinetti ).
The sisters of St. Dorothea
Paula Frassinetti founded the congregation in Genoa in 1834 as a monastic institute . It is named after St. Dorothea . In 1841 the seat of the administration was moved to Rome. The papal confirmation took place in 1863. The community has 837 sisters in 123 convents worldwide (as of 2016).
Beatification and Canonization
Paula Frassinetti was beatified on June 8, 1930 - and canonized on March 11, 1984 . Her memorial day in the liturgy is June 11th.
