Paula Riede

Paula Riede (* 19th December 1923 in Schomberg , † 16th October 2012 in Fellbach - Oeffingen ) was a German politician of the CDU .

Life

After graduating from high school, she studied in Tübingen . In her doctorate, she wrote about viticulture in the area east of the lower Neckar between Marbach and Gundelsheim . Afterwards she worked in viticulture, dealing with vine breeding and wine chemistry. During this time she also became a member of the wine testing committee .

politics

In 1964 she joined the CDU. She became chairwoman of the CDU district women’s association in North Württemberg and a member of the state and federal executive boards of the CDU women’s association. From 1968 to 1975 she belonged to the local council of Oeffingen or, after its incorporation, to the local council of the city of Fellbach. 1971 elected to the district council of the Rems-Murr-Kreis . From 1972 to 1976 and again from 1977 to 1980 she was a member of the German Bundestag. She belonged to the petitions committee .

When the President of Parliament Rainer Barzel was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class in 1983 , he called it "the nation's emergency telephone". She was also the holder of the Medal of Merit of the State of Baden-Württemberg and, since 2004, of the City of Fellbach.
