Paula Wagner (* 12. December 1946 as Paula Kauffman in Youngstown , Ohio ) is an American film producer .

Life

After studying at Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania , Wagner began her career as an actress in various Broadway and Off-Broadway plays. She also played at the Yale Repertory Theater .

Wagner later became a successful talent agent at the Creative Artists Agency; their clients were u. a. Kevin Bacon , Val Kilmer , Demi Moore , Liam Neeson , Oliver Stone and Tom Cruise . Cruise and Wagner together founded Cruise / Wagner Productions in 1993. Their joint productions included the first three parts of the Mission Impossible film series , Vanilla Sky , Last Samurai , War of the Worlds , Von Löwen und Lammern , Death Race and Jack Reacher .

At the beginning of October 2006 it was announced that Cruise and Wagner had been entrusted with the management of the film production company United Artists (UA), which had meanwhile been taken over by Sony Corporation of America . The plan was for Cruise to work on up to four company films per year and for Wagner to lead the UA as managing director. However, Wagner left the company again in August 2008.

Paula Wagner is married to Rick Nicita, a former agent of the Creative Artists Agency.
