Paulin Kouabénan N'Gnamé

Paulin Kouabénan N'Gnamé (born May 12, 1962 in Mérékou , Costa de Marfil , Ivory Coast ; † March 21, 2008 in Méagui , Gnamangui , Ivory Coast) was Bishop of the Diocese of San Pedro-en-Côte-d'Ivoire on the Ivory Coast ( République de Côte d'Ivoire).

Life

Paulin Kouabénan N'Gnamé studied philosophy and theology at the Anyama seminary after graduating from school in Bouaké. He was ordained a priest in Bondoukou on August 6, 1989 by Alexandre Kouassi , Bishop of Bondoukou, and was initially a priest in his hometown of Mérékou. From 1989 to 1993 he was vicar in the Cathedral of Sainte-Odile de Bondoukou. From 1993 to 1997 he did a doctoral degree in Canon Law at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome . From 1997 to 1998 he was vicar in the parish church of Notre-Dame de Fatima in Bondoukou. From 1998 to 2001 he was a professor in Anyama. He was Vicar General of the Bondoukou Diocese from 2001 to 2007.

In 2007 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . as Bishop of San Pedro-en-Côte d'Ivoire . The episcopal ordination on May 12, 2007 donated to him the archbishop of Gagnoa Barthélémy Djabla ; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Bondoukou Félix Kouadjo and the Bishop of Abengourou Bruno Kouamé . The celebrations of his inauguration took place with great sympathy of the population; President Laurent Gbagbo was represented by his wife Simone Ehivet Gbagbo.

He died of natural causes.
