Pauline Sachse

Pauline Sachse (* 1980 in Hamburg ) is a German violist , chamber musician and professor at the Lübeck University of Music .

Life

Pauline Sachse received violin lessons from 1988 and began playing the viola in 1992. She completed her studies with Tabea Zimmermann at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts , and since 2002 at the Hanns Eisler Music University in Berlin . In 2003 she also studied at Yale University in the USA with Jesse Livine and Peter Oundjian. Her chamber music partners include a. Isabelle Faust , Stella Doufexis , Lauma Skride , Harriet Krijgh , Janine Jansen and Tabea Zimmermann. From 2010 to 2014, Sachse was the solo violist with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra . Pauline Sachse taught viola at the “Hanns Eisler” University of Music in Berlin, most recently as a visiting professor, and in 2013 followed the call to the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden. In 2019 she took over the professorship for viola at the Musikhochschule Lübeck (successor to Barbara Westphal). Pauline Sachse appears regularly at festivals such as B. at the Salzburg Festival , the Moritzburg Festival, the Schwetzinger SWR Festival , the Rheingau Music Festival, the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, the festival "Tensions" in Heimbach and the Festival Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. She gives concerts worldwide and has played in music centers such as the Wigmore Hall, the Wiener Konzerthaus and the Berlin Philharmonic.
