Pavel Benedikt Stránský (born November 28, 1978 in Uherské Hradiště ) is a Czech clergyman and the fourth bishop of the Old Catholic Church in the Czech Republic .

Life

Stránský received the deacons in 2001 through Bishop Dušan Hejbal - and in 2003 he was ordained a priest . Until his election as bishop he was part-time pastor of the parish of Zlin , in which he had already worked as a deacon , his main job he was police commissioner. On April 8, 2016, he was elected the fourth bishop of the Old Catholic Church in the Czech Republic. He succeeded Bishop Dušan Hejbal, who retired on July 16, 2016 on his 65th birthday.

On April 1, 2017, the Old Catholic Archbishop of him donated Utrecht Joris Vercammen , the episcopal ordination ; Co-consecrators were the Austrian Bishop Heinz Lederleitner and Pierre Whalon , Bishop of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America for Europe, based in Paris. The incumbent Old Catholic Bishops Matthias Ring ( Old Catholic Church in Germany ), Dick Schoon ( Haarlem ) and Harald Rein ( Christian Catholic Church in Switzerland ) also assisted in the ordination of bishops . On April 2, 2017, Bishop Stránský was solemnly enthroned in the St. Lawrence Cathedral on Mount Laurence in Prague.
