Pavel Svojanovský

Pavel Svojanovský (born August 12, 1943 in Otrokovice ) is a former Czechoslovak rower .

In the 1968 Olympics Pavel Svojanovský and his brother rowed Oldřich with the eighth to fifth place. The following year, the two brothers won together with helmsman Vladimír Petříček in a pair with helmsman at the European Championships in 1969 . In 1971, together with Petr Krchov, they won the silver medal behind the GDR boat with Wolfgang Gunkel , Jörg Lucke and Klaus-Dieter Neubert . In this line-up, the GDR boat also won gold at the 1972 Olympic Games in front of the Svojanovský brothers, who competed again with helmsman Vladimír Petříček. At the European Championships in 1973 , the Svojanovskýs reached fourth place with Pavel Tippl . The following year, the brothers competed again with Petříček at the 1974 World Championships and won bronze behind the boats from the Soviet Union and the GDR. At the world championships in 1975 the brothers finished sixth with Ladislav Falta . In 1976 the brothers competed at the Olympic Games in Montreal together with Ludvík Vébr as helmsman and won the bronze medal behind the boats from the GDR and the Soviet Union. In his last major international appearance, Pavel Svojanovský took fifth place in the four-man team at the 1977 World Championships .
