Vladimír Petříček

Vladimír Petříček (born June 17, 1948 in Libiš , Okres Mělník ) is a former Czechoslovak helmsman in rowing .

Vladimír Petříček won the title in two with helmsman at the European Championships in 1969 together with the brothers Oldřich and Pavel Svojanovský . Two years later he took sixth place with the four with helmsman and seventh place with eight . At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, Vladimír Petříček received two medals. Together with the Svojanovský brothers, he took second place behind the GDR boat in a two-man with helmsman. the four with a helmsman in the line-up of Otakar Mareček , Karel Neffe , Vladimír Jánoš , František Provazník and Petříček won the bronze medal behind the two German boats. The following year, the Czechoslovak four-man competed at the 1973 European Championships in the same line-up as in Munich and won bronze behind the boats from the Soviet Union and the GDR.

At the 1974 World Championships , Petříček came back with the Svojanovský brothers in twos and won another bronze medal behind the boats from the Soviet Union and from the GDR. At the World Championships in 1975 Petříček finished fifth with the four-man, at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal he reached fourth place with the four-man. In his last major international appearance, Vladimír Petříček took fifth place in the four-man team at the 1977 World Championships .
