Pavel Grigoryevich Lyubimov
Pawel Grigoryevich Lyubimow ( Russian Павел Григорьевич Любимов ; born September 7, 1938 in Moscow ; † June 23, 2010 ibid) was a Russian director and screenwriter .
Life
Lyubimov graduated from the Faculty of Directing at the Russian Film Institute in 1962 and received an award for Tjotka s fijalkami at the Krakow Film Festival in 1964 - working for the Maxim Gorki Studio from now on . Lyubimov was known for his picking up on current issues in his 14 films, among which The New (1968) and The Pathfinder (1987) - after James Fenimore Cooper - are the best known.
In 2000 he was named an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation .
