Gameplay

Player in a screening version of Payday: The Heist (2011)

Payday consists of several missions, heists (English for robberies), which are not linked by an action. The task is to successfully carry out a robbery, whereby the team of players must try to escape the law enforcement officers. The player can choose between three different specializations of his character, for which he can unlock three different weapons:

  • Assault has the Mark 11, Crosskill .45 and Brenner 21,
  • Sniper has the M308 and the Locomotive 12G
  • Support has the Bronco .44, Reinbeck Shotgun and Compact-5 and
  • Technician has the AK, GL40 Grenade Launcher and the STRYK

A player is considered captured if he has taken too much damage in battle and has not been revived by his companions. In addition to the law enforcement officers, civilians also appear as pawns. Killing these civilians is punished in-game, but they can be taken hostage. If a teammate is captured, he can be brought back into play through a hostage exchange.
