Location of Schatten in Kempten (Allgäu)

Schatten is a wasteland in the independent city of Kempten (Allgäu) . Until 1972 it belonged to the municipality of Sankt Mang , which was incorporated into Kempten again that year.

history

Schatten was mentioned in 1738 as a place with two properties. In 1819, a year after Schatten was connected with other localities to form the rural community of Sankt Mang , there were 14 residents on the three properties who belonged to the Hauptmannschaft Lenzfried . In 1900 there were two properties in Schatten with 12 residents. In 1954 nine people lived in the desert.
