Pedro Adigue Jr.

Pedro Adigue (* 16th November 1943 in Palanas , Masbate , Philippines ) is a former Filipino boxer in the Light Welterweight .

Career

On December 14, 1968, he defeated the American Adolph Pruitt for the vacant WBC world championship belt over 15 rounds on points. He lost the direct rematch, which took place only three months later in Honolulu , by technical knockout in round 5. In this fight, however, the title was not at stake, which is why Adigue was still world champion.

In his next fight he inflicted the first defeat on the Japanese Kōichi Wajima . On January 31, 1970, he had to admit defeat to the Italian Bruno Arcari unanimously on points and thereby lost the title to him.
