Pedro Blanco Soto
Pedro Blanco Soto (born October 19, 1795 in Cochabamba , † January 1, 1829 in Sucre ) was a Bolivian politician .
Blanco Soto was president of his country for a week at the turn of the year 1828/29 before he was murdered in Sucre on New Year's Day 1829. He was shot at the La Recoletta monastery . The reason for the attack is believed to be the Pro- Peruvian attitude of Soto.
Today there is a memorial plaque at the site of the attack . Successor as president was José Miguel de Velasco , who had also been Blanco Soto's predecessor.
