The Peetschsee , also called Märchensee , is a lake southeast of Mirow in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is named after the Mirow district of Peetsch, which is 1.8 kilometers away in the north-west. However, this is not on the Peetschsee, but on the Schulzensee .

The maximum size of the approximately round lake is 320 meters by 380 meters. Despite the relatively small size of 11.2 hectares, it reaches depths of over 10 meters. Its water is very clear. The water level is 60.4  m above sea level. NHN . The lake is completely surrounded by coniferous forest and has neither an inlet nor an outlet.

On the west bank of the lake there is a swimming area near a parking lot on the way from Fleether Mühle. The Mecklenburg Lakes Cycle Path passes the lake at a short distance .

The lake name is derived from the Slavic word pêsŭkŭ for sand .
