Vassilis Triandafyllidis

Vassilis Triandafyllidis ( Greek Βασίλης Τριανταφυλλίδης , * May 7, 1940 in Kalamaria ; † May 21, 2018 ) was a Greek comedian , presenter , cabaret artist , actor and singer , who became known in Greece under his stage name Harry Klynn ( Χλρρυ Κ .υνν ).

Life

In 1958 he moved to Athens and began working in film and theater in the 1960s. In 1964 he emigrated to the USA, where he worked as a stand-up comedian until he returned to Greece in 1974. There he appeared in various bars in the Plaka , but his breakthrough came with the publication of recordings. His first LP was “Gia Desimo” (roughly “to fetter”) on Columbia Records , followed by 15 more. Triantafyllidis was one of the most important comedians of the 1980s and early 1990s in Greece. He appeared occasionally in plays until his death. In his skits there were often biographical traits, he admitted (ironically), supporters of the second division soccer club Apollon Kalamariasto be whose director he was, or he played the Greek abroad .
