Pehr Frigel
Pehr Frigel (born September 2, 1750 in Kalmar , † November 24, 1842 in Stockholm ) was a Swedish composer.
Life
Frigel studied in Uppsala and took lessons from Johann Gottlieb Naumann , Joseph Martin Kraus and Francesco Antonio Uttini . From 1778 he belonged to the Royal Swedish Academy of Music , whose secretary he became in 1796. From 1811 to 1834 he was inspector of the teaching establishment of the academy, where he also taught music theory from 1814 to 1830.
Frigel composed an opera , a singspiel , the oratorio Christ on the Mount of Olives , choral and orchestral works, cantatas and songs .
