Francesco Antonio Uttini
Francesco Antonio Baldassare Uttini (* 1723 in Bologna , † October 25, 1795 in Stockholm ) was an Italian conductor and composer .
Life
Uttini was a student of Padre Martini , Pier Giuseppe Sandoni and Giacomo Antonio Perti . In 1743 he became a member of the Accademia Filarmonica of Bologna. He came to Stockholm in 1755 as the leader of a theater group, where he became court conductor. At the opening of the Royal Opera in 1773, his opera Thetis och Pelée (“ Thetis and Peleus ”, text by Wellander ) was performed.
Uttini composed Italian, French and two Swedish operas, the passion music La passione di Gesù , the oratorio Giuditta , theater music, symphonies and chamber music .
