Peitho (mythology)
Peitho ( Greek Πειθώ) is the goddess of erotic persuasion in Greek mythology : She persuades young girls not to hold back any longer, but to surrender to love and eroticism. Peitho can be found as Aphrodite's helper and in Hermes' entourage .
The Romans knew Peitho under the name Suada or Suadela.
According to Aristophanes , she is cited instead of the second grace , Euphrosyne , and, according to Pausanias , was considered the fourth grace in some sources .

Peitho is described as the daughter of the god Oceanus and the goddess Tethys and thus belongs to the Oceanids . She is the mother of the Iynx .
