The Penfold Point is a headland in the southeast of Deception Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It forms the northwest side of the entrance to Whalers Bay , a side bay of Port Foster .
The headland is named after Lieutenant Commander David Neil Penfold (1913–1991) of the Royal Navy , who was involved in surveying Deception Island between 1948 and 1949.
