Penny Yassour (also Penny Hes Yassour, * 1950 ) is an Israeli installation artist .

Yassour studied art and geography at the University of Haifa and received his bachelor's degree in 1972 . In 1988 she studied art history at Tel Aviv University . She lives and works in Kibbutz Ein Harod (Ihud) and has been teaching at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design since 2000 . Penny Yassour created intellectual maps for the documenta X in Kassel .

“You could see silicone rags hanging on the wall, which (in twisted form) documented the line network of the German Reichsbahn from 1938 in relief form. The silicone rags were repulsive and the map of the Greater German Empire was alienated. Penny Yassour deliberately used this irritation to bring something to mind that is often suppressed: In those years the trains that systematically transported the Jews to the concentration and extermination camps rolled on the dense network of the Reichsbahn.
