Chaos is the third solo album by the German rapper and singer Kayef . It was released on October 14, 2016 on the Takeover Music label . The company Groove Attack is responsible for distribution .
background
Chaos appeared two years after last night's relics . According to his own statements, the musician needed about six months for the recordings. In mid-July 2016, the announcement was made for publication on October 14th. Compared to last night's relics , according to Kayef , chaos is less sad and can therefore also be heard in between. The album title is about the chaos in his head. In many songs he treats the " escape from everyday grind ". In addition, relationships, love and self-discovery are recurring topics. With black and white gray, Kayef wanted to take up the feeling of being reminded of another person at every opportunity. This is one of his most important songs as well as his favorite piece on Chaos .

The main producer of the album is Topic . He was involved in the creation of thirteen of the 15 pieces. In addition, the songs were produced by Kevin Kleinmann, B-Case , Jona Selle, Guido Block, Southalpha and Kayef. Volker "IDR" Gebhardt was responsible for the final mastering .

At the same time as the announcement of the third album Chaos , the first music video for Weck mich nicht was released in mid-July. The concept for this was developed by Kayef and Viktor Heinz. Marvin Ströter took over the camera and post production. Also under the direction of Marvin Ströter, the music videos Leinen los , Schon ok and Taub & blind were created . The fifth music video black and white gray premiered on October 10th on the television station Sat.1 . A day later, the video appeared on Kayef's YouTube channel. After the album was released, there were two more video releases for the pieces smile and pyramids .
From November 5th, 2016, Kayef accompanied the duo Die Lochis live on the “Zwilling Tour”. He then presented his third album on January 20, 2017 as part of his own “Chaos Tour”.
Versions
Chaos appeared in two versions. In addition to the standard edition consisting of 15 pieces, a limited deluxe box was released. In addition to the album, this contains a DVD and the textbook for the album. In addition, a T-shirt, a sticker, a poster, a USB stick with music and videos and a mobile phone number assigned to Kayef were enclosed with the box.

The artwork for the album was designed by Marvin Ströter, Elisé and Kayef themselves. Frank Lothar Lange is responsible for the photos in the booklet.

Chaos entered the German album charts at number 4. In the second week it dropped to 77th place. At number 24 in Austria and number 72 in Switzerland, Chaos was also represented in the charts of German-speaking countries.
