The Pentax K-01 is a digital mirrorless system camera from the Japanese brand Pentax , which was introduced in February 2012 and came onto the market in March 2012. The central component is the CMOS image sensor , in which the AD converters for signal conversion are directly on the chip. It offers an effective resolution of 16.28 million pixels on 372 mm² and a maximum image size of 4928 × 3264 pixels. The sensor is a further development of the sensor in the Pentax K-5 . The central processor has also been revised, is now called "PRIME M", offers faster image processing and enables other image formats for video recording. The design of the camera comes from the Australian industrial designer Marc Newson . The camera is available in black, black-silver and black-yellow. In addition, Marc Newson's 40 mm lens has been redesigned as a standard lens for this camera and, with a depth of 9.2 mm, is the world's thinnest interchangeable lens. This optics also fits all other Pentax K cameras.
features
The sensor format 23.7 mm × 15.7 mm ( APS-C ) corresponds to an extension factor for lenses of around 1.54 compared to the 35mm format.
The Shake Reduction image stabilization system has an effectiveness of 2.5 to 4 EV . The stabilizer is built into the housing and therefore works with all lenses; this corrects translational and rotational shake.
Power is supplied by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery of the type D-LI90.
The weight without battery and memory card is 480 g, 540 g ready for use. The dimensions of the camera are 121 mm × 79 mm × 59 mm (W × H × D).
The following formats are possible in video mode, the files are saved in MP4 (AVC / H.264) and the sound is recorded via a built-in stereo microphone.
- Full HD: 1960 × 1080 (16: 9) at 30, 25 or 24 fps.
- HDTV: 1280 × 720 (16: 9) with 30, 25 or 24 fps.
- VGA: 640 × 480 (4: 3) at 30, 25 or 24 fps.
Copyright information and the name of the photographer can be embedded directly into the images by the camera.
The camera has built-in HDR mode , which can also be used to take freehand HDR recordings, as the camera takes three pictures with −3.0, + 3 EV and aligns the pictures with one another. The strength of the effect can be selected in four levels.
With Pentax-DA-DAL, DFA and some FA lenses, the lens distortion and color errors can be corrected by the camera.
Bayonet and lenses
The K AF2 bayonet is backwards compatible with all K bayonet lenses that have been built since 1975. Contacts for controlling lenses with focusing by ultrasonic motor are available. In addition, the K-01 has an autofocus motor inside the housing that drives Pentax AF lenses without their own motor. The dimming option is used for the depth of field preview. For the digital image preview, a test picture is displayed on the monitor and can be saved.
technical description
The exposure index can be set automatically and manually from ISO 100 to ISO 12800, in extended mode from ISO 100 to ISO 25600; the intermediate values can be set in half or third steps. The shutter speed can be set from 1/4000 to 30 seconds, plus there is long exposure (B) and flash sync speed (X) 1/180 second. The images can be saved in the two formats JPG (3 qualities) and the manufacturer-independent DNG format. The strength of the noise reduction can be set individually for each ISO value.
The exposure is measured in 1024 fields that can be evaluated as a matrix, center-weighted or spot-oriented. Corrections are possible in the range of ± 3 EV in 1/3 steps.
The liquid crystal display has a size of three inches, a resolution of 921,000 (640 × 480 × RGB) pixels and a viewing angle of up to 170 °. The subject can be viewed on this monitor in live view mode and brought into focus with contrast autofocus - optionally with or without face recognition; The depth of field can be assessed in both modes . The monitor can be calibrated in 49 steps. There are three autofocus modes: AF-S (one-time autofocus), AF-C (continuous autofocus) and manual. In very low light, the camera switches on a green auxiliary light to focus. As adjustment aids for the manual focusing, there is a screen magnifier and focus peaking .
The A / D converter works with twelve bit color depth. There is a fine correction of the white balance presets as well as several memory locations for manual white balance. Five user-defined programs are used to save and quickly call up a user-specific camera configuration.
Exposure series with three images are possible, different parameters can be varied: exposure time, white balance, saturation, contrast and sharpness. You can also do multiple exposures. The captured images can be edited using nine filters.
The serial image speed is approximately six images / second ( Hi ) or three images / second ( Lo ).
An external flash can be controlled wirelessly using the built-in flash. There is also an X synchronous contact for flash systems. Flash can be used on the second shutter curtain (with the internal flash and with certain system flash units).
