Per Källberg
Per Källberg also Pelle Källberg (born March 14, 1947 in Stockholm as Per August Källberg ; † February 17, 2014 ) was a Swedish cameraman who oversaw numerous cinema, television and documentary films between 1973 and 2011. Including The Man on the Roof , The Mysterious Hill , The Good Miss or Stockholm East .
life and career
Per Källberg, born in Stockholm in 1947, gained his first experience in the film business in 1971 as a director of the short film Almarna i kungsträdgården . He quickly noticed, however, that working with the camera was more appealing to him and so Källberg changed his saddles. He made his début as a cameraman in 1973 for Per Oscarsson's film production Ebon Lundin . In 1976 the director Bo Widerberg engaged him for his crime drama The Man on the Roof .
Over the decades, Per Källberg worked as a cameraman for films such as Venus 90 , (1988) Gute Menschen (1990), My Big Strong Father (1992), The Mysterious Hill (1993), Sebastian - Friendship or Love? (1995), The Jönsson Gang and the Cornflake Robbery (1996) or The Good Miss (1999). His last job was for director Simon Kaijser in 2011 for his award-winning drama Stockholm East .
For the film Agnes Cecilia - En sällsam historia by director Anders Grönros, he received the Guldbagge in the category Best Cinematography in 1992 . In 1998 and 2012 he was nominated two more times for the Swedish Guldbagge film award.
In addition to his work for cinema and television, Källberg remained closely associated with the documentary and short film genre throughout his life. Källberg has made around 15 films together with the documentary filmmaker and director Stefan Jarl in over 30 years.
Per Källberg died on February 17, 2014 at the age of 66.
