Percival Bradshaw Fay
Percival Bradshaw Fay (born August 4, 1890 in Martha's Vineyard , † August 15, 1971 ) was an American Romanist and Medievalist .
life and work
Fay graduated from Haverford College . He received his doctorate from Johns Hopkins University in 1912 with the thesis Elliptical partitive usage in affirmative clauses in French prose of the XIVth, XVth and XVIth centuries (Paris 1912). Via the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and the University of Arizona at Tucson , he came to the University of California at Berkeley as a French scholar in 1914 , where he retired in 1958. From 1927 to 1939 he was chairman.
