Percy Wyer

Percy Wyer (actually Percival Wyer; born January 23, 1884 in Lye , West Midlands , † June 12, 1965 in Stourbridge ) was a Canadian marathon runner of British origin.

In 1915 he finished seventh in the Boston Marathon . In 1925 he finished sixth in the Port Chester Marathon in 2:47:00 h . In 1926 he won the Detroit Marathon in 2:51:30 h and was fourth in the Port Chester Marathon, in 1927 he was sixth in Port Chester, and in 1928 he came 45th in the Olympic Games in Amsterdam .

In 1929 a sixth place in the Canadian Championship was followed by a third in Port Chester. The following year he was Canadian champion in 2:51:13 h and fourth at the British Empire Games 1930 in Hamilton. Shortly thereafter, he set his personal best of 2:44:01 h in another marathon in Hamilton in fourth.

In 1931 he was sixth in Boston. At the Canadian Championship he was third as in the following year. In 1933 he was fifth in the Canadian Championship and won the Revere Marathon . In 1934 he was eighth in Boston and fifth at the British Empire Games in London .

At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, he finished 30th at the age of 52.
