Bach's Church

The Reformed Church of Bachs is a Reformed church building in the municipality of Bachs , Switzerland .

history

The church was built from 1713 to 1714 according to plans by Hans Caspar Werdmüller . As with the Weiach church , which the architect completed in 1706, the churchyard was laid out as a military fortification against the county of Baden . The rectory was inaugurated in 1729. The interior of the church was partially renewed during the renovation in 1964.

description

The church is a typical Zurich country church from the baroque era : It is designed as a hall church with a polygonal finish and has arched windows . The roof turret, clad with red oak shingles, is closed off by a small tent roof. It functions as the carrier of the three bells and as a clock tower.

Despite the small size of the church, it has a gallery on which there is an organ from Metzler Orgelbau with two manuals and a pedal with a total of 12 sounding stops . The three windows in the polygonal closure are provided with postmodern glass paintings by Robert Wehrlin .
