Pere Portabella
Pere Portabella (born February 11, 1929 in Figueres ) is a Spanish filmmaker.
From 1960 he worked as a film producer, including for Luis Buñuels Viridiana and Carlos Sauras The Street Boys . From 1968, Nocturno 29, his first feature-length film, appeared as a director. In his work he mixes documentary recordings with fictional scenes. In addition to the feature films, he also made a number of experimental short films. A long-term partner of his was the musician and conceptual artist Carles Santos Ventura . Portabella tried to create an alternative film world, beyond distraction and the pursuit of profit.
From 1977 to 1988 Portabella was a member of the Catalan Parliament.
