Pergenroth is located between the towns of Kurtensiefen in the west and Marienhagen in the east and is about 5 km north of the city center of Wiehl as the crow flies . Pergenroth is north of the federal motorway 4 .

The place was mentioned for the first time in 1467, namely "Henneke von Pergenroit zur Klyngelbach is witness to a Bergisch border bypass around the property of Eckenhagen ". In the spelling of the first mention of Pergenroit , the name part red is derived from roden.
