Periocumen
As Periökumene (from Greek. Oikoumene - globe , entire inhabited earth and peri - around about) refers to a settlement island in the middle of an uninhabited by people wilderness .
Examples are manned weather or research stations in the polar regions or oases in the desert.
The term goes back to Krates von Mallos , who called the region of the world known to him ( Asia , Africa and Europe ) as ecumenism and the continent that could possibly be reached via the Atlantic as periocumenism.
