Peric Lista albida is a plant wasp from the family of Real sawflies (Tenthredinidae).
features
The species reaches a body length of 8–9 mm. The plant wasps have a salmon-colored abdomen . The legs are also salmon-colored. The mesonotum is red. The head and antennae are black. The light green to whitish larvae reach a length of about 14 mm. They are covered with black double thorns. The head is light beige and has a characteristic dark pattern.
distribution
The species occurs in the western Palearctic . It is widespread in Europe. In the north they occur as far as the British Isles and Denmark and Sweden, in the south as far as the Mediterranean.
Way of life
The habitat of the wasps is formed by areas with oak vegetation . The plant wasps are usually seen in April and May. The larvae develop on various types of oak, particularly common oak ( Quercus robur ) and sessile oak ( Quercus petraea ). They eat their leaves.
