The Perponcher were an old Dutch family who later assumed the name Perponcher-Sedlnitzky due to the marriage of Isaak de Perponcher with Anna Sedlnitzky von Choltitz († before January 27, 1637) , in 1814 in the Netherlands to the nobility, in 1815 in the baron status and in 1825 the hereditary count status (in Primogenitur), which was later extended to all members of the family. Various members of the family distinguished themselves in civil and military civil service in the Netherlands and later in Prussia.

origin

The Perponcher-Sedlnitzky do not come from the Bohemian nobility of the Sedlnitzky von Choltitz , but from an old Dutch Huguenot family who immigrated from France to the Republic of the United Netherlands around 1600 . The progenitor of the Perponcher-Sedlnitzky family was Isaak de Perponcher († at Corneille Castle 1656), who married Anna Sedlnitzky von Choltitz († before January 27, 1637) on February 11, 1607,

Anna Sedlnitzky von Choltitz came from the younger main line of Sedlnitzky von Choltitz on Polish-Ostrau ( Ostrava ) in Moravia . She was the elder daughter of Peter Sedlnitzky von Choltitz auf Wratimow, who was the Dutch general sergeant and governor of Grave (in the province of Noord-Brabant ) († 1620), from his first marriage to Katharina, a daughter of Johann the Elder Praschma von Bilkau . Gentlemen on Krhau, Uhrzitz, Zerawitz, Löschna Kirwein u. Hinkau and Sofia Scharowetz von Scharow.

Anna's grandfather was Wenzel Sedlnitzky von Choltitz auf Ribnitz, Rosswald, Paulowitz, Pitarn, Pschowa, Woine, Kawarn, Grosse and Pilgersdorf († 1572, buried in the church in Füllenstein), from his first marriage to Anna Schamarzowsky von Rohow, a daughter of Wenzel Schamarzowsky von Rohow auf Krzenow and Anna von Tluck and Toschonowitz.

The Perponcher family was therefore closely related and related by marriage to families from the Bohemian nobility in the early days and later connected with important Dutch and Prussian families.
