Perry Botkin Jr.

Perry Botkin, Jr. (born April 16, 1933 in New York City , New York ) is an American composer , songwriter , arranger , conductor and record producer . He created some musical works for cinema in the 1970s and 1980s. Including compositions for films such as Kampf den Talaren , Don't you think we're crying , Hell's end , Der Galgenstrick or Tarzan - Lord of the Jungle .

life and career

Perry Botkin was the son of jazz musician and composer Perry Botkin Sr. born. At the end of the 1960s, the duo Barry De Vorzon and Perry Botkin Jr. came together. Both De Vorzon and Perry Botkin Jr. have worked as writers, producers, and arrangers with some of the greatest artists in the music business, producing numerous hit singles. As an arranger, Botkin Jr. has worked with Bobby Darin , Harry Nilsson , The Lettermen , Ed Ames and Harper's Bizarre , among others .

Perry Botkin Jr. has also been composing film scores himself since 1970. At first with his partner Barry De Vorzon, later alone. Botkin Jr. wrote the music for films such as The Battle of the Gowns , Endstation Hell , The Trail of the Black Beast , Diamond Lady , Two on a crooked tour , The Gallows Rope or for the horror film Silent Night - Horror Night . In 1972 he was honored with an Oscar nomination by director Stanley Kramer together with his co-composer Barry De Vorzon for his song composition for the film drama Don't you think we cry .
