Pervomaiskoje ( Russian Первомайское ) is a village in the Republic of Dagestan in (Russia) on the border with the Chechen Republic with 1228 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
On 9 January 1996, a Chechen commando attacked terrorists a hospital in Dagestan Kizlyar and took an estimated 3,000 hostages . The hostage-takers demanded the withdrawal of Russian troops from Chechnya. The commando left the hospital with 160 hostages and holed up in Pervomaiskoje. Russian special forces set fire to the village on January 16, 1996, killing at least 150 people, including a large number of hostage-takers. According to the Russian government, 82 hostages were freed. The alleged leader of the command, Salman Raduyev , escaped.
