Petar Milić (* in Kranj ) is a Slovenian classical pianist .

Life

Milić received his first piano lessons at the age of seven in his hometown Kranj. He studied with Janez Lovse at the Music Academy in Ljubljana . After he had passed his diploma examination, he continued his studies at the University of the Arts in Berlin in the class of Klaus Hellwig . Apart from that, the pianist also received formative stimuli from recognized musicians such as Pascal Devyon , Elena Lapitskaja , Igor Laszko , Arbo Valdma and others. Even during his training he gave many solo evenings and piano concerts. In 1996 he was awarded the Prešeren Prize for his performance of Beethoven's 4th Piano Concerto , which took place with the Slovenian Philharmonic under the direction of Anton Nanut . In 1997 he took part in the international Nikolai Rubinstein competition in Paris , where he received 1st prize. Since then he has been giving concerts with increasing success in Slovenia and abroad. He has appeared as a soloist in Hanover , Geneva , Paris, Brussels , Bratislava and Berlin, while in Slovenia he appears as a regular guest in the most important concert series.

Due to his live recording, he was invited by the jury of the European broadcasting houses to the music festival initiated by Yehudi Menuhin in Bratislava, which was broadcast throughout Europe. In addition, his new CD with works by Chopin was released in early 2013 , which earned him good reviews. Petar Milić is also active as a teacher and leads master classes for young pianists. Since 2011 he has been a lecturer at the Ljubljana Music Academy.
