Petar Tanchev
Petar Tantschew , actually Petar Tantschew Schelew , ( Bulgarian Петър Танчев ; * July 12, 1920 in Gledka , † July 21, 1992 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian politician.
Life
From 1945 Tantschew belonged to the Bulgarian Peasant People's League . In 1948 he became a member of the National Council of the Fatherland Front . From 1962 to 1966 he was Bulgaria's Minister of Justice and from 1966 to 1971 Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers. From 1971 to 1974 he was first deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers. In 1974 he took over the role of secretary of the Bulgarian Peasant People's Union and became the first deputy chairman of the State Council .
Tantschew was awarded the Georgi Dimitrov order (1970, 1980), the "13 Centuries Bulgaria" order (1984), the International Lenin Peace Prize , the Star of Friendship of Nations (1986) and the Karl Marx Order (1989).
