Pete Nelson

Pete Nelson (born June 4, 1962 in Ridgewood , New Jersey , USA) is an American writer, carpenter and entrepreneur. He became known through the reality television series “Treehouse Masters” ' Die Baumhaus-Profis ' , which has been broadcast in the USA since 2013.

Career

Nelson's curiosity and interest in tree houses was aroused at the age of 5 when his father built a tree house fortress for him to play on the property in New Jersey. He attended college in Colorado Springs . His career as a tree house designer began in 1987 after a school friend sent him a book by David Stiles How to Build Treehouses, Huts and Forts . He built his first own tree house in the back yard of his property in Colorado Springs and that same year moved to Washington state, where he first built down-to-earth houses and began writing books about tree houses.

He published his first book Treehouses: The Art and Craft of Living Out on a Limb in 1994 , and other books followed.

In 2006 the Nelsons opened the “Treehouse Point” lodge, a bed and breakfast in Seattle that offers tree houses for overnight stays and has developed into a private event harvester in which events for up to 40 people can be held. In 2011 he founded the company "Nelson Treehouse and Supply" based in Fall City , Washington, which specializes in the planning, construction and supply of tree houses. The reality television series started on May 31, 2013 and was broadcast on Animal Planet (under the title "Die Baumhaus-Profis" on April 7, 2014 in Germany on DMAX ). Nelson and his team build tree houses for Grace VanderWaal , who won America's Got Talent in 2016 .

Nelson has been married since 1986 and lives and works with his wife in Fall City. The three adult children work in the family business "Nelson Treehouse and Supply".
