The Deubacher Church

The Evangelical Lutheran Peter and Paul Church is in Deubach , a district of Wutha-Farnroda in the Wartburg district in Thuringia .

history

The church of Deubach is located in the middle of the village on a hill. It is the oldest building in the village and has evolved over time from the pilgrimage chapel of St. Peter. The original chapel fell into disrepair in the 16th century. During this time the inhabitants of the place were parish in the neighboring town of Schönau . It was only rebuilt in the 18th century. In 1740 the tower was placed on the church wall and in 1775 the sacristy was added.

In 1843 part of the west wall collapsed for unknown reasons. That was also the reason why the two bells received a separate bell house, which can still be rung manually today. In 1981 the church was renovated. The brotherhood from Werningshausen supported the parish with the color design.

Interior

In the church there is a winged altar , which was designed using the technique of glaze painting with pictures from the life of the apostles Peter and Paul, also in the galleries .
