Peter Asplund (born September 26, 1969 ) is a Swedish trumpeter , band leader and composer of modern jazz .
biography
Peter Asplund studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm . He later worked as a studio musician and with his own ensemble, with whom he toured Scandinavia, the USA, Canada, England, Germany, Australia, Poland, Switzerland and Yugoslavia. His bands include the Peter Asplund Quartet , and he is also a member of the Tolvan Big Band , the Stockholm Jazz Orchestra , Hector Bingert's Latin Lover Big Band and Bosse Broberg's Nogenja formation . He also worked on albums by different artists, such as the band Kent , Lisa Ekdahl , Björn Skifs ,Lena Philipsson , Ainbusk Singers , Robert Broberg , Daniel Lindström and Victoria Tolstoy with. He plays regularly with the Bo Kaspers Orchestra .
In 2004 Asplund was awarded the Gyllene skiva prize.
