Dragon Records

Dragon Records is a Swedish jazz label.

Dragon Records was founded in 1975 by the journalist Lars Westin (born October 15, 1948). Westin was also the editor of the journal OJ ( Orkester Journals ); he now heads the company with Leif Collin (* 1940).

Dragon has released several hundred albums by Swedish jazz musicians such as Lars Danielsson , Anders Jormin , Position Alpha , Lars Sjösten , Bobo Stenson , Johan Hörlén and Per Henrik Wallin ( Coyote , 1998) and documented live performances by American musicians in Sweden. Dragon gained international attention with a CD series about Lars Gullin's recordings from the 1950s, on which Lee Konitz , Jutta Hipp and Zoot Sims also contributed. Dragon also published Miles Davis' Stockholm concerts with John Coltrane , Thelonious Monk ( Live in Stockholm 1961 ) and Sonny Stitt from 1960 and 1961 in a 4-CD edition.
