Peter Beneke

Peter Beneke (born March 11, 1917 in Barmen ; † January 3, 2016 in Wuppertal ) was a German CDU politician .

education and profession

Peter Beneke graduated from high school in 1936. From 1936 to 1938 he was in the labor service and the Wehrmacht. He then completed a commercial apprenticeship. From 1939 he worked in the financial administration. From 1939 to 1945 he did military service and was taken prisoner. Most recently he was a retired tax councilor in accordance with the state legal status law.

Peter Beneke had been a member of the CDU since 1954. He became chairman of the German Association of Civil Servants, Wuppertal district. From 1955 also chairman of the civil servants 'committee of the CDU Wuppertal and from 1976 chairman of the state civil servants' committee (public service committee) Rhineland. He became a member of the district executive committee of the CDU Wuppertal in 1958. Beneke was chairman of the city district association Zoo-Sonnborn of the CDU Wuppertal. He was a member of the board of the regional war victims committee of the CDU Rhineland and since 1970 district group chairman of the CDU. 1959 to 1964 and from 1969 he was a member of the council of the city of Wuppertal and acted as chairman of the committee for general administration.

From May 28, 1975 to May 28, 1980, Peter Beneke was a directly elected member of the 8th State Parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia for the constituency 056 Wuppertal I.
