Peter Blum (painter)

Peter Henryk Blum (born October 8, 1964 in Elbing , Poland ) is a German painter and graphic artist .

Life

Blum grew up in Fulda . After graduating from high school, he studied with Kurt Haug at the Kassel Art College and, after graduating in 1991, received a scholarship from the Kleinsassen Art Station ( Rhön ). He is considered a representative of Kassel realism .

Peter Blum has over 110 exhibitions at home and abroad, including in the Künstlerhaus Wien , in the Kunsthalle Gießen , Vonderau Museum , at Ritzebüttel Castle in Cuxhaven, in the Ravenborg Gallery in Hamburg or in the Hay Hill Gallery in London.

In 2004, he attracted attention when his nude painting Praline was burned by the lady after a court settlement with the depicted lady.

Blum lives and works in Motten in the Bavarian district of Bad Kissingen on the state border with Hesse.
