Peter Burghard Strack

Peter Burghard Strack (* 12. July 1940 in Berlin , † 27. September 2014 in Windhoek ) was from Germany originating, Namibian architect , artist and art collector.

Life

Peter Strack worked as an architect in Namibia and, together with his partner Hans-Erik Staby, realized numerous major projects for Stauch & Partners , such as the building of the Namibian Central Bank in Windhoek. Strack helped shape the cityscape of Windhoek. For the “Lüderitzbucht Foundation” he was committed to the preservation of valuable historical buildings in the port city.

He was known as a visual artist in Namibia as well as an art collector Southwest and Namibian master. He was a member of the Art Association of Namibia. In September 2013 the exhibition Peter Strack Restrospective by the Swakopmund Arts Association was shown.

He leaves behind his wife, two sons and four grandchildren.
