The Peter Cremer Holding GmbH & Co. KG is a globally operating group of companies with four business areas: trade , production , oleochemicals and shipping , based in Hamburg . The general partner is Handelsgesellschaft Peter Cremer mbH. From the Hanseatic city, the most important activities in the business areas of trade, processing and transport of raw and basic materials as well as oleochemical products are coordinated.

history

The beginnings go back to 1946, when Peter Cremer started trading in grain and animal feed. In Hanover he laid the foundation stone of the company with a small team, in 1954 the company moved to Hamburg and a short time later it expanded abroad. A shipping company is founded in the late 1960s . Subsidiaries are established in Asia and South America. At the beginning of the 2000s, the company bought the feed producer Deuka in Düsseldorf and founded CremerEnergy GmbH (trading in biodiesel ). Further acquisitions and start-ups followed.

Business areas

The Trade division comprises the international trade in agricultural and industrial raw materials for the processing industry ( grain , molasses , steel, animal feed , ores, beans).

The Production division includes the manufacture of compound feed ( Deutsche Tiernahrung Cremer ), cereals and raw materials for oleochemicals (glycerine, fatty acids, fatty alcohols and methyl esters). In addition, agricultural products are refined and basic and raw materials for further industrial processing are manufactured.

The Oleochemicals division combines the activities of the production and distribution of oleochemical specialties with needs-based procurement of raw materials (distilled fatty acids, fatty alcohols, glycerine, esters). Basic materials for the cosmetics, pharmaceutical and food industries as well as for technical applications are developed. Sustainable research and development forms the basis for the production of innovative, plant-based raw materials.

The Shipping division carries out Cremer's worldwide sea transports under the name PRO LINE and also offers freight services for customers.

Cremer is represented by 30 companies at 53 locations worldwide. The strategic portfolio also includes a deposit with a start-up that has been operating an electronic marketplace for used agricultural machinery since 2015 ( e-farm.com ).
